The Role of Justice in Islam

TEHRAN (IQNA) – When we explore Islamic teachings, we discover that justice permeates its ethos. Numerous verses and narrations both recommend and command individuals to uphold justice, discouraging oppression and betrayal.

 

Islam is a school of justice and moderation, with the Islamic Ummah embodying the principles of fairness. Just as Islam emphasizes prayers, it also highlights the importance of zakat (charitable giving). It promotes love and friendship among God's friends while encouraging maintaining a distance from enemies.

Moreover, while it advocates the pursuit of knowledge, it equally underscores the significance of putting that knowledge into action. Faith, according to Islam, necessitates righteous actions.

Trust in God is encouraged, but so is taking action and putting in effort. Respecting property rights is fundamental, but it doesn't condone the abuse of property.

It emphasizes forgiveness, yet it's also unwavering in enforcing boundaries, reminding us that mercy should not deter us from punishing wrongdoers.

According to a narration, someone was described as praying attentively, and Imam Reza (AS) inquires, “How keen is his intellect?” The underlying message is that a person's prayer excellence should align with their thoughtfulness.

Similarly, in another instance, people were praising the traits of someone before Imam Reza (AS). He asked: “How is his prayer?”
