IQNA – The deputy secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement hailed Iran’s support for the Islamic resistance movements in the region without expecting anything in return.

Sheikh Naim Qassem

Addressing a ceremony held at Hazrat Ruqayyah (SA) holy shrine in Syria to commemorate Seyed Razi Mousavi, an Iranian military adviser martyred by the Zionist regime, Sheikh Naim Qassem said Iran is an independent country and a supporter of the resistance.

He added that Iran has extended a hand of friendship to regional countries and to the regional freedom-fighting movements to confront the hegemonic system and end occupation.

Sheikh Qassem also stressed that while Iran supports Hezbollah, the Palestinian resistance groups and other resistance movements in the region, it does not interfere in the internal affairs of regional countries.

The cleric also referred to the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation launched by Hamas against Israeli on October 7 and the subsequent Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, underscoring that the Zionist regime has failed to achieve its goals in the brutal onslaught on the Palestinian enclave.

He deplored the fact that some criticize Hezbollah for supporting Gaza, saying all Muslim and Arab countries must do so.

“We ask them: Why are not supporting Gaza? Why are you not standing by them (people of Gaza)? Why are you after normalization of ties with Israel? We ask you why you do not support Palestine. It is our right and the right of Palestine, Al-Aqsa Mosque and human dignity (to support Palestine).”

He added, “It is our belief that the Palestinian resistance and nation will be victorious.”
