TEHRAN (IQNA) – The holy city of Qom in Iran is hosting the second stage of an initiative to enhance the Quranic skills of Quranic elites.

The Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) has organized the plan with the participation of Quran activists from several countries, the website of the Astan reported.

Muntazar al-Mansouri, director of the International Quran Propagation Center, affiliated to the Astan, said eight elite Quran memorizers are taking the courses held as part of the initiative.

He said the memorizers at this stage are from Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan.

The courses are held in person in Qom and will run for six days, according to the official.

They include lessons on Quran memorization, recitation, and management of Quranic circles, Mansouri said.

The first stage of the Quranic plan was organized by the Astan in the holy month of Ramadan.

Thirty-five Quran memorizers from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Indonesia attended the first stage, which was held virtually.

It included lectures given by experts and scholars in such areas as Quran recitation, Sawt, Waqf and Ibtida, memorization, Quranic concepts and ethics.
