Mikaeil Baqeri, director general of the Iranian Education Ministry’s Quran, Etrat and Prayers Department, told IQNA that some 3 million school students took part in the Quranic events.

They were organized simultaneously, starting at 9 AM on Monday, he noted.

A number of schools in 12 other countries such as India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Senegal, Denmark and Sierra Leone, also hosted the Quranic circles, he said.

The programs included recitation of verses from the Quran and interpretation and explanation of the meanings of the verses, Baqeri stated.

He further referred to the Quranic Plan “Living with Verses”, being held during the holy month of Ramadan and said that, as part of the plan, the students also chorally recited Verse 18 of Surah Al-Hashr: “Believers, fear Allah. Let every soul look to what it has forwarded for the future, and fear Allah, for Allah is Aware of the things you do.”
