IQNA – Gratefulness is a golden key that helps us achieve peace and tranquility and prevents mental and emotional collapse in times of stress and anxiety.

If you give thanks, God will give you more

It indicates one’s mental, cognitive, emotional and behavioral health.

Being grateful shows that one has reached such a level of cognition and insight that he distinguishes blessing from punishment.

In the field of emotions and feelings, gratefulness indicates that one is not plagued with mental and emotional problems such as conceit, spitefulness and envy.

So a grateful person is healthy in the fields of emotions, feelings, thoughts and behavior.

The healthier he is in these spheres, the greater his gratefulness will be.

God says in Verse 7 of Surah Ibrahim, “And when your Lord made it known: If you are grateful, I would certainly give to you more, and if you are ungrateful, My chastisement is truly severe.”

In some verses, the Quran commands us to remember God and be grateful. This shows that remembering God causes us to feel grateful to Him. On the contrary, not remembering divine blessings and favors causes us to become ungrateful.

“So remember Me, I will remember you. Give thanks to Me and do not be ungrateful towards Me.” (Verse 152 of Surah Al-Baqarah)

Having faith in what God wants for us also gives believers peace of mind and tranquility. According to a Hadith from the Holy Prophet (PBUH), whoever believes what God has decided to give him will certainly reach him, his heart will become calm and secure.
