Russia’s 21st Int’l Quran Contest to Begin on Wednesday

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 21st edition of the Moscow International Quran Competition will begin on Wednesday with the participation of representatives from 40 countries.

Moscow Cathedral Mosque will host the Quran memorization competition which has been organized by the Russian Council of Muftis.

This esteemed event will welcome participants hailing from 40 nations, primarily from the Arab-Muslim regions, as they gather to showcase their Quranic skills, Russian media outlets reported.

The grand finale of the Quran competition is scheduled for November 10, an occasion eagerly anticipated by participants and spectators alike.

Hossein Khani-Bidgoli will represent Iran in the competition.

It is noteworthy that the 20th edition of this event was held last November, following a two-year hiatus necessitated by the global COVID-19 pandemic.

The outcome of the previous competition saw Ahmed Kuzu, the representative from Turkey, securing first place, while the second place was claimed by Abdul Rahman Faraj from Egypt. Iran's Seyed Mostafa Hosseini achieved the distinction of a third-place finish.
