TEHRAN (IQNA) – God has invited people to Hajj and blessed pilgrims with the opportunity to visit His house.

Hajj pilgrims in Mecca

The Hajj pilgrims have duties and responsibilities that they must fulfil.

By inviting them to Hajj, God both tests and gives pilgrims medals. All of them need to wear the same attire, which is white, signifying health, hygiene, light, humbleness, manners and politeness. It is also the color of what we wear as infant and after death.

Ihram -what pilgrims wear during the Hajj- is a clothing in which there is no sign of race, country, age, position, etc. It signifies purity, humbleness and fraternity.

The Hajj rituals should be organized every year so that people get spirited and learn about the latest developments in the Muslim world. So that the enemy realizes that Muslims are awake and vigilant.

The ritual are held in an area that is the Blessed House and the Qibla.

We may never fully comprehend the true dimensions of Hajj but it is enough to know that our Infallible Imams (AS) would take the pilgrimage on foot, preparing for the trip months before the Hajj season. They prayed in their Ramadan prayers to have the opportunity to go on the pilgrimage. They even served Hajj pilgrims anonymously.

So the Hajj pilgrimage is different from all other pilgrimages and journeys.

The Hajj pilgrims have three kinds of responsibilities:

1- Responsibility regarding their money: They should pay the Khums and Zakat of the money and wealth from the best part of their wealth.

2- Responsibility regarding themselves: They should make repentance, thank God and go on the pilgrimage with the intention of getting closer to God.

3- Responsibility towards other people: They should apologize to people, help those in need and inform their friends and relatives about the pilgrimage.

Hajj is not a simple and usual journey, it is the manifestation of Islam.
