TEHRAN (IQNA) – One who turns away from the truth and denies the existence of the Creator inevitably resorts to beliefs that are not compatible with the structure of the world and nature, and this makes him anxious, an anxiety that increases with the growth of unbelief.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a common problem in today’s societies. In addition to the modern lifestyle that causes anxiety, there is also the impact of beliefs in creating anxiety.

The Holy Quran says: “We will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. For that they have associated with Allah that which He did not send down for a proof. Fire shall be their home, evil indeed is the dwellingplace of the harmdoers.” (Verse 151 of Surah Al Imran)

The reason mentioned in this verse for casting terror into the hearts of disbelievers is that they ascribe unto Allah partners.

Turning to superstitions and abandoning reason and logic make one incapable in face of various events in life. They easily fall into miscalculation and even a small incident seems very big to them, making them scared because they have not chosen a firm and reliable support.

We read in the Noor Exegesis of the Quran that after Muslims were defeated in the Battle of Uhud, Abu Sufyan and his army that were not far from Medina yet said Muslims have been destroyed and the remaining ones have fled, so we should return and destroy them completely. However, God cast such a terror into their hearts that they returned to Mecca as if they had been defeated.
