Palestine, Tatarstan Discuss Quranic Cooperation

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Officials from Palestine and the Russian republic of Tatarstan held talks on developing Quranic cooperation between the two sides.

Mahmoud Al-Habbash and Farid Salman meet in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan.

 

Mahmoud Al-Habbash, the top judge of Palestine and religious affairs advisor to Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas, on Saturday held talks with Farid Salman, the Mufti and head of the Quran and Sunnah Studies Center in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan.

They discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation to serve the Quran and Sunnah sciences and promote religious teachings.

Al-Habbash also invited the Mufti of Tatarstan to visit Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque and learn more about the suffering of the Palestinian people under the Zionist regime’s occupation and its moves against Palestinians’ sanctities.

He also gifted a copy of the Al-Aqsa Mus’haf, which has been calligraphed by Palestinian artists, to the Mufti of Tatarstan.

Farid Salman, for his part, offered a report on the activities of the Quran and Sunnah Studies Center and its interactions with Islamic centers in different countries.

He added that in its cooperation with other centers, it lays emphasis on Islam’s message of justice and humanity that is mentioned in verses of the Holy Quran.
