Qandil said the two prominent clerics will meet in July, Baghdad al-Yawm website reported.
He underlined the importance of the upcoming trip and the meeting, given the status of the Najaf Islamic seminar and Al-Azhar Islamic Center in religious and social issues and moderation in the Muslim world.
Al-Azhar is the largest Islamic center of education center and university associated with Al-Azhar Mosque.
It was founded in 972 by the Fatimid Caliphate as a center of Islamic learning.
