State Minister for Religious Affairs Faridul Haque Khan will preside over the ceremony.

A press release from the Ministry of Religious Affairs stated that the prime minister will inaugurate the fourth phase of the 50 model mosques on Monday.

The Bangladesh government undertook a project worth Tk9,435 crore to establish Islamic cultural centers and model mosques in every district and upazilas of the country.

A total of 564 such mosques will be built in the country under the project by June 2024.

So far, a total of 150 model mosques and Islamic cultural centres have been inaugurated – in the first phase on June 10, 2021, the second phase on January 16, 2023 and the third phase on March 16, 2023, with 50 mosques on each phase.

The purpose of the project is the promotion of Islamic brotherhood and its values as well as the dissemination of the essence of Islam against extremism and militancy as the religion never supports those.
