Tehran Int’l Quran Expo’s Policy Making Council Convenes

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A meeting of the policy making council of the 30th Tehran International Quran Exhibition held a meeting earlier this week, an official said.

Ali Reza Moaf, the Quran and Etrat deputy of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, told IQNA that the culture minister and a number of senior members of the country’s Quranic community attended the session.

He said the participants underlined the need for enhancing the international section of the expo in the upcoming edition.

Hence, in a video conference meeting with Iranian cultural attachés in 21 countries was held in which it was decided that the centers’ capacities be used by the secretariat of the exhibition, he stated.

According to Moaf, in the policy making council session it was also stressed that the capacities of government ministries and other bodies that can be used in holding the expo should be defined.

Paying more attention to the children and teenagers section and activities and programs for women in the Quran exhibition was among other subject emphasized at the meeting, he went on to say.  

The Tehran International Quran Exhibition is annually organized by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan.

The exhibition is aimed at promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.

In 2020 the expo was called off and in 2021 it was held virtually due to the coronavirus restrictions in the country.

After the pandemic eased, the Quranic event was held in person again in April 2022 with the motto of “Quran, Book of Hope and Calm”.
