“Contests are a means to reach the goal and the goal is to progress in recitation so as to perform the best propagation,” Amir Hossein Rostami told Mehr News Agency on Monday.
Rostami was named the winner of the men’s tahqiq recitation category at the 44th edition of Iran’s national Quran contest. The event wrapped up on Friday evening here in Tehran.
He described the level of this year’s competition as good, adding, “The fact that organizers changed the approach of the competition from virtual to in-person was a great point for many contenders.”
“I try to never detach from recitation while also thinking about the genuineness of my recitation,” added the reciter.
Winners of the event will represent Iran in the upcoming international competitions.
The national Quran contest is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country. It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
