--“Azerbaijani literature is replete with the most heart-rending and moving elegies featuring the holy Prophet (PBUH) and his household”, said known Iranian Shia cleric, Ayatollah Abdullah Fateminia.
Talking with IQNA on the sidelines of the “Zolal-e-Kowsar” festival he added: “Azerbaijani religious songs perceptibly manifest Azerbaijanis’ soft culture and symbolize their ethnicity”.
Ayatollah Fateminia noted that Persian literature has been profoundly influenced by Azerbaijani literature and went on to say: “Azerbaijani literature played a significant role in revolutionary movements during Pahlavi regime”.
