Egypt’s Major Mosque Start Hosting Khatm Quran Programs

IQNA – Implementing a plan for organizing Khatm Quran programs in Egypt’s major mosques began at a ceremony on Friday.

Khatm Quran programs at Sayyidah Zainab Mosque in Cairo

 

Khatm Quran means reading the Holy Quran from the beginning to the end. 

Egypt’s Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mukhtar Gomma and a number of top qaris took part in the ceremony, held at the Sayyidah Zainab Mosque in Cairo.

The prominent qaris who recited the Quran at the program included Sheikh Ahmed Ahmed Nuaina, Sheikh Ahmed Farhat, Sheikh Abdul Hadi Mohamed, Sheikh Mahmoud Abdullah, Sheikh Amr Ahmed, Sheikh Mahmoud Ibrahim and Sheikh Fathi Abdul Samee.

They recited the verses of the first and second Juzes (parts) of the Holy Book.

The programs will continue at Imam Hussein (AS) Mosque and Sayyidah Nafisah Mosque the following days.

The plan is aimed at enhancing the role of mosques in serving the Holy Quran and reviving the tradition of Quran recitation after early morning prayers.
