Mashhad-Based Qari Sent to Afghanistan for Quran Recitation in Herat

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Salman Jafari, an Afghan qari residing in the holy city of Mashhad, attended Quran recitation sessions in Afghanistan’s Herat.

The Iranian Culture Center in Herat invited the qari and organized the Quranic program.

Jafari was sent to Afghanistan by the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization’s (ICRO) office in Mashhad.

One of the recitation sessions was held at Bibi Masoumeh holy shrine in Herat that was attended by a large number of people.

Jafari also held a meeting with a number of Quran experts and senior qaris of Herat.

In 1997, Jafari came third in the recitation category Iran’s 14^th International Holy Quran Competition.

There are many Afghans living in Iran some of whom have gained major achievements in Quranic fields such as recitation and memorization.
