Thousands of Yemenis Slam Continued Saudi-led Aggression
Protestors on Friday condemned the economic and military crimes of the Saudi-American coalition and the killing of civilians in Yemen, according to Al-Alam.
Several protests were also held in other Yemeni cities.
The coalition has intensified military attacks on civilian areas while also imposing sanctions on the import of oil to put pressure on the Yemeni people.
People held Yemeni flags as well as banners that slammed the policies of the United States for supporting Saudi aggression.
Mohammad al-Fattah, an advisor to the Yemeni political council, described aggressors as “coward and criminal”, noting that they will be pushed out of the region.
Protestors highlighted that the US is behind the killing of Yemeni people and destroying the country’s infrastructure as it is providing the aggressors with arms while the international community has also remained silent.
Saudi Arabia, backed by the United States and regional allies, launched the war on Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi back to power and crushing the Ansarullah movement.
The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases there.
Despite heavily-armed Saudi Arabia’s incessant bombardment of the impoverished country, the Yemeni armed forces and the Popular Committees have grown steadily in strength against the Saudi-led invaders and left Riyadh and its allies bogged down in the country.
