Female Preachers Academy Launched in Egypt

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international academy for training imams of mosques and female preachers and teachers will start its cultural and educational activities next month.

 

 

According to maspero website, the academy has been established by Egypt’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs in 6th of October city in Giza Governorate.

Mohamed Mokhtar Goma, the Egyptian minister of Awqaf, said that the academy cost more than 100 million Egyptian Pounds to build and equip.

Educational and cultural courses will be held from next month at the academy aiming to enhance the knowledge and skills of imams of mosques and preachers and promote innovations in religious discourse, he added.

The minister also said that 12 Quranic schools have been opened by the ministry to facilitate Quran memorization in different parts of the country.

He said that there are 800 Quranic schools all over Egypt affiliated to the Awqaf ministry.
