TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Al-Mustafa International University’s office in Senegal held a Quran and Hadith festival in the African country.

Some 400 students and Quran learners from 50 schools and Quranic centers attended the event.

It was organized in two sections, written and oral, on March 13 and 14, according to Tasnim.

In the oral section, 100 participants competed in recitation of the Quran and memorization of the Holy Book at three levels.

The written section was held in the categories of Quran interpretation studies and Quranic concepts.

Winners of different categories were awarded at the closing ceremony held at the Dakar Islamic Institute on March 16.

Senegal is a country in West Africa with a population of around 14.5 million. More than 90 percent of the country’s population is estimated to be Muslim.
